Gwen Stefani is returning to The Voice. Stefani will sit alongside Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as coaches for season 12, which is set to begin in February 2017. But what about Miley? Don’t worry about Miley. Miley Cyrus will return as a coach for season 13 in the fall of 2017.
Carson Daly will return as host. The rest of the season 13 coaches will be revealed at a later date.
“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” Paul Telegdy, president of Alternative and Reality Group at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”
Cyrus and Keys made their coaching debuts with season 11 of the Emmy-winning reality competition series. Cyrus previously served as a key adviser in the spring of 2016.
Previous coaches for the competition include Shakira, Pharrell Williams, Usher and Cee-Lo Green. Levine and Shelton have served as coaches since the show’s start.
The Voice recently took home the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition program. So far this season the series has averaged a 4.2 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 14.7 million viewers.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
