Kidnapped Romanian Engineer, others released

The Romanian Engineer,  Nedeclu Christian and two Nigerians who were abducted by gunmen last Sunday at Railway Village in Owa-Oyibo, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State have been released after about 72 hours in the custody of their abductors

The victims are staff members of Julius Berger who were working at a construction site at Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

The State’s police spokesperson SP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed their release, said the victims were freed as a result of pressure on the abductors by security operatives.

Kalu stated that the victims were released at about 5:30pm when security operatives combing the bushes were already closing-in on the bandits’ hideout.
