Another day, another time Demi Lovato inserts herself into some issue she has absolutely nothing to do with, namely an issue of Taylor Swift’s.
During a recent interview with Glamour, the reporter asked Demi her thoughts on Taylor’s feud with Katy Perry. Why, I have no idea. But, boy oh boy, did Demi have an answer.
“I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not female empowerment,” Demi said of Tay’s Perry-themed diss track, “Bad Blood.”
Well, I must agree with Demi on this one. You’re so girl power but yet you have a whole crew of chicks helping you to bitch out someone who vaguely wronged you YEARS ago?? Like, let it go, Taylor.
But had Demi stopped there, she may have been seen as a rational person. But she didn’t. Instead she decided to pop off about, of all things, Taylor and her friends’ bodies. Uh, ok?
“This will probably get me in trouble [but]I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body,” she said. “It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like.”
OMG DEMI STFU.
Firstly, le duh that people like Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss–aka models–aren’t going to look like your average resident. Obviously. That’s not who Taylor mingles with. She mingles with celebs and surprise surprise, celebs don’t look like the rest of you.
Also unsurprising: People are completely over Demi’s faux-body positivity crap.
I mean…they have a point. Demi called out Taylor for not being very pro-woman yet turned right around and sniped about Taylor’s body. I think the best idea is for Demi to just shut her trap for awhile, maybe forever. Focus on music, focus on finding a good tattoo removal clinic. Leave Taylor and her skinny friends out of it.
