The ordeal was first discovered by Kitu’s mother-in-law, Pauline Ndunge, who was worried about the whereabouts of her daughter, Ndila, who she last spoke to in 2013.

She decided to visit Kitu’s home and on arrival, she went to his mother’s home and the two headed to Kitu’s house.

When Kitu could not hold it anymore, he led the two to a dilapidated house and uncovered the ‘preserved’ bodies of the two.shock-as-man-was-found-living-with-bodies-of-his-wife-and-son-who-died-three-years-ago-1

“He opened the door, walked straight in and without flinching, dusted the body of my daughter on the face. He then said, ‘look, here she is, you can talk to her’,”Ndunge narrated.

In the other corner was the body of the son.

The two elderly women, overtaken by grief and emotions, informed the area chief who called in the police.

On questioning, Kitu said he had special instructions from his wife not to bury her and the son as they would resurrect after seven years.

“I was following instructions from my late wife that I should not bury her but wait for seven years as she would resurrect. If it was you who was given such instructions, what would you have done?” Unremorseful Kitu said.

Residents described Kitu as a very hardworking and honest man but wondered how and why he resorted to keeping the bodies.

Kitu had lied to his mother that his wife and son had left and gone to her home in Tala.

Many were also shocked by how Kitu managed to preserve the bodies perfectly despite lacking the necessary apparatus to do so.
