Tragedy has reportedly happened in Zambia when a bus travelling from Nakonde to Lusaka in Zambia, was involved in a horrible accident late last night.
According to reports, the Fire brigade, Zambia Police and RTSA officers rushed to the scene to help the trapped and retrieve bodies.
Whilst carrying out the rescue operation, a truck laden with maize and moving at high speed failed break and hit into the RTSA tow truck, critically injuring the officers and killing most of the them from Fire brigade and RTSA. The RTSA officer who died is the Provincial Manager for Central Province.
The driver of the bus has been identified as Barron Chibwe aged 39 years. The fatal accident occurred when the driver failed to negotiate a curve due to excessive speed. The 39 passengers sustained serious to minor injuries and three died on the spot.
