President Muhammadu Buhari, today, September 12, joined other Muslim faithfuls in his hometown of Daura in Katsina state to participate in the Eid Kabir prayer.
The president who was received by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar and Magajin Gari of Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar was full of smiles as he joined in the prayers.
After the prayers, the president was hailed by the mammoth crowd that had also participated in the prayers as he made his way to his car.
The president acknowledged the greetings by clenching his first and pumping it into the air as the crowd kept on shouting the now popular slang ”Sai Baba, Sai Buhari.”
The president had proceeded to his hometown over the weekend to participate in the Eid Kabir prayers and festivities.
In his Sallah message signed by his chief press secretary, Mr Habib Aruna, Governor Ambode said the period of the celebration is one that calls for every Muslim and other Nigerians to embrace the tenets of sacrifice, patience, humility and brotherly love.
“As we celebrate this auspicious occasion, let us renew our faith in our nation and implore the Almighty God to restore to us those values that place high premium on human life, love of neighbour and sharing even as we ventilate our faith in the unity of our dear country and the possibility of her taking her place in the comity of nations”, the Governor said.
