– Dr. Austin Tam-George cautions Rivers APC to stop claiming Wike’s achievements
– The Rivers commissioner also warned Mrs. Ibim Seminitari, the NDDC boss, to desist from making false claims of any federal government involvement in Wike’s projects
– George praises Governor Wike for reconstructing Igwuruta-Chokocho-Etche road
Dr Austin Tam George, the Rivers state commissioner for Information and Communication has commended Governor Nyesom Wike, for his extraordinary commitment to develop all parts of the state, especially in the development of road infrastructure.
This comes even as the commissioner warned the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to stop claiming credit for Wike’s achievement.
In a statement made available to NAIJ.com, Dr. George particularly praised the Governor for reconstructing Igwuruta-Chokocho-Etche road which had been abandoned for decades.
He said: “The Governor’s direct intervention in reconstructing this road has brought a new lease of life to the people in the area.”
Dr. Tam George warned the Rivers APC, especially Mrs. Ibim Seminitari, the acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to desist from making false claims of any federal government involvement in the rehabilitation of Igwuruta-Chokocho- Etche road.
He said: “The federal government is not involved in any way in the construction of that road. In fact, Etche has never been mentioned even as a slip of the tongue by the government in relation to any development projects. The people of Rivers state are familiar with Mrs. Seminitari’s propensity for falsehood and deceit.”
Dr. Tam-George urged the leaders and people of Igwuruta, Chokocho, Etche and other communities in the area, to begin mobilization efforts to give Governor Wike a rousing reception in the forthcoming commissioning of the Igwuruta-Chochoko-Etche Road.
George had earlier denied claims that Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state mobilised militants to rig the Edo governorship election in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was reacting to claims by Governor Adams Oshiomole that the two governors donated N2 billion for the cause.
According to him, Governor Wike has never made such financial donation.
