Jeffrey Egbe: FC Wacker midfielder reveals interest in joining the Super Eagles

Concerning his immediate ambitions as a football professional, the wonder kid said it is to put on the green jersey of the Nigerian national football team.

FC Wacker midfielder, Jeffrey Egbe, who has both Nigerian and Austrian nationality has disclosed that he has dreams to play in the Super Eagles team.

Egbe, who has had spells with Innsbrucker AC Jugend and AKA Tirol, but in Austria, also revealed that the likes of Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo, have been an inspiration to him.

The young footballer told Punch News in an interview published on Sunday, September 4, 2016, about why he wants to play for Nigeria.

He said, "As a kid growing up, I watched the Nigerian national team whenever they played, with my father, and I admired their technique and the strength they use in playing. With their technique, you could compare them with Brazil."

"I  know a lot of Nigerian star footballers like Benedict Akwuegbu, the brother to my coach, Emmanuel; Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Mikel Obi, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Amuneke, the coach of the U-20 team and many more."

"I saw videos of some of these players on YouTube and Jay Jay inspired me the most with his fine technique."

Concerning his immediate ambitions as a football professional, the wonder kid said it is to put on the green jersey of the Nigerian national football team.

Impressing spectators at a game is not a bad idea according to the player.

"They (ambition) are to break into the first team of FC Wacker and to put on the Nigerian jersey and show what I can do."

"I also want to bring a new trend in football. I want people to know me and get impressed after watching me play."
