New Technical Adviser is impressed with Vincent Enyeama and wants the goalkeeper to return to the Super Eagles.
New Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr says he speaking to former captain, Vincent Enyeama on returning to the national team.
Enyeama resigned from the Super Eagles in October 2015 following a clash with then coach, Sunday Oliseh.
Almost a year later, new Technical Adviser, Rohr was he has been keeping an eye on the Lille goalkeeper and wants him back in the squad.
“I asked about Enyeama when I signed because I know his qualities,” Rohr told media ahead of Tanzania’s game.
The German coach further revealed he has spoken to the 34-year-old but nothing has been agreed.
“I also spoke with the goalkeepers’ coach Alloy Agu and he spoke highly of him. I’ve called and spoken with Enyeama since my resumption but nothing is settled yet,” Rohr further said.
“I will see him after the Tanzania game because I saw him play in France and he’s the kind of player we need to help us move forward.”
Enyeama and Oliseh clashed at the Hotel Verviers in Belgium where the Super Eagles have based ahead of a friendly game in October 2015.
The duo engaged in a war of words after the clash after the goalkeeper was stripped of the Super Eagles captaincy by Oliseh.
