'Awurama' music video: The poor attempt by Lord Paper at fame grabbing

Lord Paper

The videographer and director behind the work failed at every turn to tastefully  sell sex with the wrong use of angles and over exposure including pubic hair(ewwww). You don’t need to actually show all that to portray sex.

The cliché that  sex sells may have worked for countless people; but Lord Paper is definitely not one of them.

Many social media users in the last few hours have been feasting their eyes on a viral ‘music video’ made by  ‘singer’ Lord Paper.

At the risk of promoting  it, the video can best be described as an artless, low cost sex flick with a reasonable soundtrack.

Social media followers and users have been heavy-handed in their criticism of the artiste and the model which is saying something for a society that is slowly opening itself to a liberal interpretation of the arts..

I have seen comments from others who support the video, stating similar styles have been adopted successfully by acclaimed artistes like 50 Cents, R.Kelly, Nicki Minaj and host of others.

Those opinions are respected but I state my disagreement purely on the artistic delivery and quality of work put in those videos that have been compared to Lord’ Paper’s nonsense.

The model who starred in the video has been busy fighting to establish the artistic value of the act she put up.

“…Ghana is f*cked up. What is wrong with yall. It is just a music video nothing more. Just pure acting and if people can’t handle it, that is their problem. I’m done”.

I for one hope she truly is done because her acting ( if we can call it that)  was painful to watch.I will refer her to the same videos made by the above mentioned artistes and ask herself how she truly fared.

Ghana’s music video has seen some truly ground breaking work by the likes of Prince Dovlo,Gerald Gyimah,Pascal Ackah and XBills Ebenezer and i daresay they have all at one point or the other shot an overly risque video.

The difference between theirs and the “ Awurama”video? Attention to detail and a mastery of craft.

Lord Paper might have gotten a lot of people talking but he should ask himself this? Did they talk about him as the talented singer he wants to be or the dude who starred in a D-grade sexflick?
