Rapper, CDQ Explains Concept, Challenges Behind Debut Project

Indigenous rapper, CDQ explains concept behind his debut project as he opens up on challenges faced putting all together.

According to the rapper, he got the title of his album from his mentor, Banky W, as getting Mastercraft for all songs proved to be his major challenge.

“At first, I gave the album CD Quality which has to do with my name CDQ, like Banky my mentor will say, back in the days when people go to the market to purchase a product, and you see a cd that is good, you hear them say see the quality”. He said

He continued by saying that “Aside from the kind of music that people know me with, like ‘Indomie’ and ‘Salaro’, that happens to be like full street. I am happy to say even with that, I was able to build myself to put a lot of conscious music that goes versatile, kind of music that everybody reckons with, talk about the one I did with Banky, ‘Odikwa ok’, ‘Shanawole’ featuring Ice Prince, songs that people will listen to and want to be like CDQ.

“The album has versatility in it, that’s why I titled it quality. I faced so many challenges, my idea was that I wanted all songs to be produced by Mastercraft and you know he is one of the top producers in Africa, so its not easy to get him sited in one lace, so I had to make sure I waited for him, that’s why the album took long in putting it together”.
