A drunk man locked inside a storage room by his angry wife got his head stuck in the door when he tried to escape.
The 43-year-old – identified only as Zhang – had been quarrelling with her over his drinking habits. But he soon found himself trapped in the room by his cunning wife.
While the couple from East China’s Jiangsu Province argued over Zhang’s alcohol problems, the wife shoved him into a storeroom and locked the metal door from outside as punishment.
She believed locking him inside would prevent him from getting to more booze and allow him to sober up – but it only made Zhang angrier as he tried to break through the door.
Even after Zhang’s wife had unlocked the metal door, the pair were still unable to free his head, which had begun to swell and hurt from his failed attempts to get free.
In the end local firefighters had to be called to the home, with rescuers carefully expanding the hole with a hydraulic tool before successfully freeing Zhang’s head about half an hour later.
He was taken to hospital for a check-up and did not suffer any serious injuries.
